Children

We love children at Christ Church! Through relevant and meaningful discipleship programs, to inter-generational worship, quality after-school and holiday camps, and fun sports programs, we want to help children grow on their journey to know, love and serve Jesus Christ.

Pastor Monique McBride, pastor to schools and families, leads the Christ Church children's ministry. If you have  questions or want to volunteer with the program, please click here or call her at 954.771.7300.

Nursery

The Christ Church nursery is open to children 2 and under during the 9:30am and 9:40am Sunday services and to children 5 and under during the 10:55am service. The nursery is located in the building just east of the Fort Lauderdale Sanctuary.  It is also open during many midweek events. If you have questions, please click here to contact Kerry Zimmer, assistant director of Crosswalk, or call her at 954.771.7300 if you have questions.

Crosswalk

crosswalk-logo-150-by-100.pngFrom 9:30-11am most Sundays, preschool and elementary school children are welcome in Crosswalk, where they can worship and grow as disciples of Jesus in age-appropriate ways. Preschoolers will feel right at home in the Crosswalk Clubhouse. Elementary school children head to the Walkway Room. Both are on the second floor of the Fort Lauderdale gym building. Click here for more information about Crosswalk.

Sit Together Sundays

sit-together-sunday-logo-150-by-100.pngOn the first Sunday of the month, elementary school-age children attend worship with their families on what is called Sit Together Sunday. On these special Sundays, services include children’s bulletins and other kid-friendly opportunities. The 9:40am Praise Service has a children’s message, and often a child is invited to lead the Lord's prayer with Pastor Monique McBride. Children also are welcome to receive Holy Communion. Preschoolers are welcome in worship or in Crosswalk Preschool in the Crosswalk Clubhouse.

The Pray Ground

A children's play area, called the Pray Ground, has been developed for services held in the gym—the Mosaic Praise Service at 6pm on Saturdays, and the Praise Service at 9:40am on Sundays. This special spot is complete with coloring books, puzzles and other fun stuff to help children and families feel welcome in worship. We hope this addition brings joy, comfort and hospitality to children and families.

Worship Workshops & seasonal events

worship-workshop-logo-150-by-100.pngJust as we teach children to read and write, we must also teach them how to worship, why we receive Holy Communion, why we give weekly offering to God and other important parts of Christian worship. Worship Workshops are interactive experiences for the whole family in the fellowship halls generally after worship beginning at 11am, although a few are held midweek.  Click here to learn about seasonal Worship Workshops.

Afternoon Adventures, One-Day, Holiday & Summer camps

Christ Church provides quality after-school care called Afternoon Adventures, day camps that correspond to the Christ Church School calendar and an awesome summer camp. Children learn Bible stories, play games, make crafts and receive excellent care by paid staff members. Click here for more information about Christ Church camps.

Child & youth protection

Christ Church makes every effort to creative a safe, protected environment for our children and youth. All adult staff and volunteers who who work with children must go through a fingerprinting and screening process and take part in Child/Youth Protection Policy training each year. If you have questions about the Child/Youth Protection Policy, click here to contact Kerry Zimmer or call her at 954.771.7300 x206.
