Christ Church operates several ministries, and also partners with community organizations to extend Jesus’ love. Serving in God's name is a natural progression in the life of faith. As we grow closer to our Creator, we naturally want to reach out and serve people in need. We encourage everyone in the Christ Church community to let the Spirit guide them in this process.
The Backpack Project at Christ Church is an annual effort devoted to providing backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need at elementary, middle and high schools, and to those who participate in other Christ Church ministries for children of the less fortunate. Early each summer, volunteers begin to collect donations of backpacks, supplies, and monetary gifts toward the goal of assembling 1000 backpacks by early August. Volunteers also help put supplies in the backpacks, prepare them for distribution to schools, and finally, deliver them to the designated schools. This project is co-sponsored by the Gracious Energetic Motivated Servers (GEMS) and the FREEWAY Student Ministry. Click here to order online, to see a list of needed supplies or to volunteer.

The Blessings Food Pantry, located on the Christ Church Pompano Beach campus, provides food to families and individuals in need. The pantry is open Monday through Thursday, 9-11:30am, and on Saturday, 10am-12noon. Click here for more information about ways to serve at the pantry.
Carry Out For Kids
Carry Out for Kids works with Broward County Title 1 schools to send food home with children who are chronically hungry or food insecure. Located on the Christ Church Pompano Beach campus, the ministry receives food through food donations and food drives, and makes purchases with monetary gifts designated for Carry Out for Kids. The ministry coordinates with schools to identify the students in need each week, and then volunteers gather to sort and pack the food bags. The filled bags are delivered to the designated schools on Thursdays. To volunteer, or for more information, please click here to contact team leader Mark Thomason.
God’s Little Lambs
God's Little Lambs provides quality, low-cost, Christian child care in a happy and safe learning environment, Monday through Friday, 7am-6pm. More than 100 children are enrolled each year, ages 6-weeks to pre-kindergarten, and from of all cultural backgrounds and religious faiths. Located at Harris Chapel, 2351 NW 26th Street in Oakland Park, God’s Little Lambs is a 501c3 corporation, and donations are tax deductible. Volunteers assist teachers by reading to and interacting with the children, sharing simple craft projects, and helping with day-to-day care. To ensure the safety of the children, volunteers must have a background check conducted by God's Little Lambs. You can serve for as little as an hour at a time or on a regular basis. For more information, please click here to send an email to team leaders George and Karen Hunsaker.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry dedicated to eradicating substandard housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes. Families who receive Habitat homes make monthly payments on a no-profit, no-interest mortgage, and each family is expected to contribute 500 hours of sweat equity working with Habitat volunteers. Habitat homes are affordable, in large part, because volunteers keep construction costs down. Volunteers from Christ Church participate in several build projects each year. Planned build days (all Saturdays) for 2018 include September 22, and November 17. Please click here to sign up to volunteer.
The members of the Helping Hands team perform simple home repairs at no cost to those unable to perform those tasks for themselves. They provide services such as changing light bulbs, simple plumbing, painting, pressure cleaning, and several other types of general house repairs. Helping Hands volunteers may also help prepare homes when a hurricane threatens our community. If you or someone you know in Broward County, Florida, is in need of this type of assistance, please click here to complete the Helping Hands Repair Request form, or call the church office at 954.771.7300.

Love In Action Fort Lauderdale
Love in Action Fort Lauderdale is Christ Church's ministry that provides meals and fellowship for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or financial disability. Each Thursday, a team of volunteers prepares up to 250 hot meals in the Christ Church Fort Lauderdale kitchen. The meals are then delivered to an off-site location where a second team of volunteers helps to set up, serve the meals, and clean up. Click here to sign up for volunteer opportunities in this ministry.
Love In Action Pompano Beach
In July, 2015, God led Christ Church to begin a shared meal ministry at the Pompano Beach Campus. Now this community has grown to include up to 200 people on Sunday afternoons. The ministry has expanded to include music, devotions and communal prayer before the shared meal, along with distribution of donated clothing, bi-weekly haircuts, and a casual worship service that includes sharing, teaching, and singing familiar hymns. Mother’s Day Shoe Fund
In recognition of Mother's Day each year, many members of the Christ Church community make donations in honor of, or in memory of their mothers. Each dedication helps to purchase shoes for children in need for the start of the new school year. During the last week of April, donation envelopes are distributed in worship service bulletins and are also available in the Christ Church office. For more information about the Mother's Day Shoe Fund, please click here to contact Judy Ambrose.
