Christ Church operates several ministries, and also partners with community organizations to extend Jesus’ love. Serving in God's name is a natural progression in the life of faith. As we grow closer to our Creator, we naturally want to reach out and serve people in need. We encourage everyone in the Christ Church community to let the Spirit guide them in this process.
Alzheimer Unit Worship
Every Sunday, a team of servants goes to the Alzheimer's residence at John Knox Village to sing familiar hymns and share devotions with the residents, their families and the staff. Volunteers are blessed by the opportunity to see memories stirred and to offer encouragement to those attending. If this ministry interests you, please call the church office, 954.771.7300, to be put in touch with ministry leaders.
The Backpack Project at Christ Church is an annual effort devoted to providing backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need at elementary, middle and high schools. Each summer, volunteers collect donations of backpacks, supplies, and monetary gifts toward the goal of delivering hundreds of backpacks by early August. Volunteers also help put supplies in the backpacks, prepare them for distribution to schools, and finally, deliver them to the designated schools. The Backpack Project is led by the FREEWAY Student Ministry. Ways to help include donating items needed or volunteering to help assemble or deliver backpacks. Before the 2020-21 school year began, more than 400 backpacks filled with supplies were delivered to 13 area schools.

Carry Out for Kids works with Broward County Title 1 schools to send food home with children who are chronically hungry or food insecure. Located on the Christ Church Pompano Beach campus, the ministry receives food through donations and drives, and makes purchases with monetary gifts designated for Carry Out for Kids. The ministry works with schools to identify students in need, and then volunteers gather to sort and pack the food bags. The filled bags are delivered to the designated schools on Thursdays. Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry dedicated to eradicating substandard housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes. Families who receive Habitat homes make monthly payments on a no-profit, no-interest mortgage, and each family is expected to contribute 500 hours of sweat equity working with Habitat volunteers. Habitat homes are affordable, in large part, because volunteers keep construction costs down. Volunteers from Christ Church participate in several build projects each year. For details about planned build days, and to sign up, please click here.
The members of the Helping Hands team perform simple home repairs at no cost to those unable to perform those tasks for themselves. They provide services such as changing light bulbs, simple plumbing, painting, pressure cleaning, and several other types of general house repairs. Helping Hands volunteers may also help prepare homes when a hurricane threatens our community. If you or someone you know in Broward County, Florida, is in need of this type of assistance, please click here to complete the Helping Hands Repair Request form, or call the church office at 954.771.7300.

Beginning with the shared meal at 2pm in the Pompano Beach Sanctuary, these individuals worship with a devotion and celebration of Holy Communion each week. Mother’s Day Shoe Fund
Before the 2020-21 school year, a total of 235 gift cards were given to help children in need have new shoes before the school year begins. The families in need are served by God's Little Lambs, Jack and Jill Children's Center, Hope South Florida, Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Little Walker's Early Learning Center and Christ Church Children's Ministry. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, worshipers made donations in advance of Mother's Day in honor or in memory of their mothers. Each dedication would help purchase a pair of shoes.
