Each of our Worship Arts Ministries is an opportunity to connect with others, grow in faith, and learn new skills. If you sing, play an instrument, enjoy working with technology, or would like to assist with worship services, you are invited to help create powerful worship experiences at Christ Church.
The Chancel Choir is a dynamic ministry open to all who love to sing and praise the Lord. The choir sings each Sunday at the 11am service, sharing a wide variety of music from gospel to the classics. If you enjoy singing and want to be a part of a fun-loving fellowship, contact Chuck Stanley. The choir rehearses each Thursday from 7:30-9:15pm in the Adult Rehearsal Room.
The Men’s Chorus performs special music arranged for men’s voices and leads worship once a month at the 8am and 11am Sunday services. The chorus also performs at other events—which might include presenting some Broadway favorites. The Men’s Chorus rehearses each Monday from 6:30-7:30pm in the Adult Rehearsal Room. If you enjoy singing and want to be a part of this ministry, please contact Chuck Stanley for more information.
The Celebration Singers is a contemporary vocal ensemble of mellow blended voices, singing harmonies in all combinations of soprano, alto, tenor and bass. The ensemble helps lead worship once a month at the 11am Sunday services. The Celebration Singers rehearse each Monday, 7:30-9pm. If you have the gift of singing and matching pitches in a contemporary vocal style, the ability to memorize music and lyrics, and are available for scheduled rehearsals and performances, please contact Darlene Jones for more information.
The Handbell Choir members praise God by the ringing of bells to produce beautiful music. Once a month, the choir leads worship at the 11am Sunday services, and occasionally perform in concert. Members of the choir make a strong commitment to the group, since each player is a soloist and is the only person ringing that bell (musical note). The Handbell Choir rehearses each Thursday, 6:30-7:30pm in the Adult Rehearsal Room. Membership is open to anyone with experience in bell ringing and an ability to read music. For more information, please contact Chuck Stanley.
The Praise Band leads worship through contemporary, modern music at two worship services: 6pm on Saturdays and at 9am on Sundays. The band is comprised of vocalists and instrumentalists—guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, and other instruments. If you have a passion for worshiping the Lord through modern music, and are a creative musician who would like to explore how to use your gift for Christ, contact Abbey Loren to arrange an audition.
Altar Flowers in the Sanctuary
If you would like to celebrate a loved one’s life with altar flowers in their honor or memory, please sign up on the flower calendar in the Fort Lauderale sanctuary narthex. For more information, please click here to contact Judy Ambrose.
Holy Communion is served every Sunday at the 8am Traditional Communion Service in the Chapel on the Pompano Beach campus and at the 11am Traditional Service in the Fort Lauderdale Sanctuary. Holy Communion is served at all other services at least once a month. If you regularly attend Christ Church and would like to deepen your faith by serving communion, please contact lay leader Cindy Long.
Liturgists & Scripture Readers
Members of our church community may become more personally involved in worship by acting as Liturgists and Scripture Readers. This involves reading the Scripture Lesson and possibly other early parts at one of the worship services. If you would like more information about this opportunity to serve, please contact Connie Bookholt.
We want worshipers to know we have a place for them at any service they wish to attend, and you could be the first person to greet them. More than handing out bulletins, the volunteer usher may be called upon to help a visitor find a comfortable seat or make an introduction. If this sounds like your gift, email Pastor Josh Beaty or call 954.771.7300. Or talk with lead ushers at each service: Dick Womack at 6pm Saturdays; Melissa Dore at 11am Sundays; and Mary Becker at 9am Sundays.
The Technical Arts Ministry is dedicated to provide the best in sound, video, and lighting to enable God’s message. We use technology in various formats in all of our worship services and ministries. If you are technically minded (Did you hook up your TV/satellite/stereo at home? Are you the one your friends call to set up their iPods? Do you have a love for audio/video/photography?), contact Maureen Kaelbel about volunteer opportunities in this ministry.
