Worship Arts

Each of our Worship Arts Ministries is an opportunity to connect with others, grow in faith, and learn new skills. If you sing, play an instrument, enjoy working with technology, or would like to assist with worship services, you are invited to help create powerful worship experiences at Christ Church.

MUSIC

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is a dynamic ministry open to all who love to sing and praise the Lord. The choir sings each Sunday at the 11am service, sharing a wide variety of music from gospel to the classics. If you enjoy singing and want to be a part of a fun-loving fellowship, contact Chuck Stanley. The choir rehearses each Thursday from 7:30-9:15pm in the Adult Rehearsal Room.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir members praise God by the ringing of bells to produce beautiful music. Once a month, the choir leads worship at the 11am Sunday services, and occasionally perform in concert. Members of the choir make a strong commitment to the group, since each player is a soloist and is the only person ringing that bell (musical note). The Handbell Choir rehearses each Thursday, 6:30-7:30pm in the Adult Rehearsal Room. Membership is open to anyone with experience in bell ringing and an ability to read music. For more information, please contact Chuck Stanley.

Praise Band

The Praise Band leads worship through contemporary, modern music at two worship services: 6pm on Saturdays and at 9am on Sundays. The band is comprised of vocalists and instrumentalists—guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, and other instruments. If you have a passion for worshiping the Lord through modern music, and are a creative musician who would like to explore how to use your gift for Christ, contact Jason Campbell to arrange an audition.

WORSHIP SUPPORT

Liturgists & Scripture Readers

Members of our church community may become more personally involved in worship by acting as Liturgists and Scripture Readers. This involves reading the Scripture Lesson and possibly other early parts at one of the worship services. If you would like more information about this opportunity to serve, please contact Connie Bookholt.

Welcome Team

We want to welcome worshipers warmly to every service. We like to extend hospitality and needed information from the moment guests or church family members arrive for worship. Volunteers may be called upon to help a guest find a comfortable seat or make an introduction. If this sounds like your gift, sign up here and Linda Bajkowsky, team leader, will be in touch.

Technical Arts

The Technical Arts Ministry is dedicated to provide the best in sound, video, and lighting to enable God’s message. We use technology in various formats in all of our worship services and ministries. If you are technically minded (Did you hook up your TV/satellite/stereo at home? Are you the one your friends call to set up their iPods? Do you have a love for audio/video/photography?), contact  Cynthia Metzger Phipps about volunteer opportunities in this ministry.
