CARRY OUT FOR KIDS
Carry Out for Kids is a ministry to chronically hungry or food-insecure children, ensuring they have something to eat on weekends and school holidays. For many of these kids, the schools' free breakfast and lunch program provides the only guaranteed meals each day.
SERVING FOOD INSECURE KIDS SINCE 2009
The Carry Out for Kids ministry of Christ Church began its community outreach in 2009, and to date, has provided more than 60,000 bags of food to kids in need through the generosity of many donors. Of course, a program of this magnitude depends upon the support of many to continue its vital mission to feed children who are chronically food-insecure.

check payable to Christ Church, with Carry Out for Kids in the memo line, and mail it to Christ Church, 4845 NE 25th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.
SERVING KIDS IN NEED
Carry Out for Kids serves about 100 children each week of the school year at Bennett, Cypress and Martin Luther King Jr. elementary schools. With the help of school guidance counselors, children in need are identified and given bags of food to take home before the weekend. The cost per child is about $4.50 a week.
The need
Almost 1 in 5 children in South Florida go to bed hungry every night.* Teachers and counselors say the children who receive Carry bags are more ready to learn on Mondays when they've had food to eat over the weekends. A thank-you note from a Cypress Elementary student said, "I like cereal and my brother likes the peanut butter and my little brother likes the milk." That shows food sent home for one child helped nourish three.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP
Carry Out for Kids needs very specific sizes of certain foods. The food has to be so easy to prepare that a 5-year-old can do it without parental assistance. It has to small enough and light enough to be carried home in a kindergarteners' backpack.
Here are the specific items sought by Carry Out for Kids:
4.6 ounce cans of Vienna sausages
7.25 ounce boxes of macaroni and cheese
15 ounce cans of ravioli with pop-tops
5 ounce cans of tuna
applesauce cups
8 ounce cartons of shelf-stable milk
18 ounce jars of peanut butter (plastic, not glass, please)
granola bars
individual-size boxes of cereal
small packages of peanut butter crackers
